2010 Taku Build - Energy Partnership House

2010 Energy Partnership House

The Energy Partnership (EP) is a consortium of energy industry companies providing construction and land acquisition funding and volunteers annually to Habitat for Humanity. Since it's inception in 2001, The member companies of the Energy Partnership have contributed in excess of $1 million to build twelve homes and house 68 people, including 44 children. In 2009 the EP provided over 1410 volunteer hours, raised an additional $31,500 for HFHA's Land Bank, provided the EP Coordinator and EP Volunteer Coordinator (BP), lunches, safety equipment, TV and print publicity, two paid construction interns (PRA), a portable building (BP), and annual fundraising breakfast sponsorships (Chevron and ExxonMobil).

At right, Von Cawvey of ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. presents a check for $20,000 to Habitat's Executive Director, Craig Jaeger, as CPAI's sponsorship of the 2010 Energy Partnership House.

This year's Energy Partnership House will be built at 5314 Taku Drive on the corner of the Glenn Highway and Boniface Parkway - just east of the two Habitat homes built in 2009. It will be a four-bedroom, detached single-family home that will look similar to the one pictured here. The Energy Partnership's goals for 2010 are to fully fund this home, add at least three more energy industry companies to this consortium, and provide construction volunteers for at least twelve EP build days.

If your company is interested in joining the Energy Partnership, please contact our Energy Partnership Coordinator, Ed Turner (BP) at [ email ] or 564-4740 or Jan Cawvey, HFHA's Energy Partnership Sponsorship Coordinator at [ email ] or 272-0800.
