Habitat for Humanity-Anchorage is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to building simple, decent homes in partnership with qualifying low-income families.
Habitat is not a give away program. Partner Families are mentored for successful homeownership, contribute sweat equity, then purchase their homes with interest-free financing. Without interest or profit, mortgage payments are affordable for these families. Through a hand-up - not a hand-out - our Partner Families become self-sufficient homeowners. Habitat offers home partnerships without regard to race, sex, color, age, disability, religion, family status, or national origin.
We invite people of all faiths or no faith to join us as we seek to make affordable housing a matter of conscience and action.
As a non-profit organization, Habitat depends on donations from individuals, corporations, businesses, community service organizations, places of worship, grants, and mortgage repayment monies as well as some funding from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, the Municipality of Anchorage, the Rasmuson Foundation, and HUD. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Habitat today. Click on the DONATE tab for a list of ways you can support Habitat's mission.
